That perfect castle on a cool hilltop in Europe. That amazing overwater bungalow you saw in Tahiti on TV. Or perhaps the latest boutique spot for hipsters in Hollywood or Vancouver.

The Intercontinental Tahiti is one of a million properties you can book with Booking.com. You could even win a week's stay!

We all could use a break. And now the folks at Booking.com, the global leader in connecting travellers with the widest choice of where to stay, is giving Canadians a chance at just that.

Booking.com is marking the addition of their one millionth property with an “epic competition” that will give some lucky Canadian a week in the one-in-a-million property of their choice.

Their new contest is open to residents of all Canadian provinces and territories (excluding Quebec). To enter, you only have to name your dream property from the world-wide selections on Booking.com and post a photo of it via your favourite social media channel (Facebook, by commenting under each campaign post, as well as Instagram and Twitter) using both the hashtags #BookingYeah and #million.

Entrants have until Aug. 22, 2016 to share their choice for a chance to win. After that, a winner will be picked at random.

How about a week in beautiful Victoria, B.C.? Winners of the latest contest from booking.com could take a week at this magnificent hotel, free of charge.

“What better way to mark the addition of our one millionth property than to throw our entire selection open to one lucky winner to spend a week wherever they choose on us,” says Gillian Tans, CEO of Booking.com. “Empowering travellers with diversity and choice has always been at the core of our mission, and as we continue to grow the number and diversity of accommodation options for our customers, we are delivering on our promise that no matter who you are or what you’re looking for in a place to stay when you travel, we’ve got that one-in-a-million stay that’s just right for you.”

Booking.com has doubled the number of properties it offers in just two years, and now has one million properties with more 23 million bookable rooms worldwide. Of those 23 million, 7.2 million are in homes, apartments, villas and other unique categories. So there’s a lot more than hotel rooms on offer.

“This is a fantastic achievement for us,” said Sherlee Taylor, Regional Manager, Canada, Booking.com. “Reaching one million properties on our website – doubling our number of properties in a span of just two years – validates the trust held between our property owners, hotel partners and Booking.com.”

Maybe a week at the Park Hyatt in Sydney fits the bill? It's one of the great properties around the world you can stay in for a week, thanks to Booking.com.

Booking.com offers the world’s most diverse array of unique accommodation options in more than 30 categories, including igloos (they love us Canadians), castles, treehouse, villas and resorts. Oh, and boats, too. They recently added their one millionth property, the soon-to-open Greydon House on the island of Nantucket in Massachusetts.

More than 1 billion guests have stayed at a Booking.com property since the site was born. The site lists nearly 10,000 properties in Canada, including everything from Rocky Mountain getaways to modest properties in the Maritimes.

“We have close to 10,000 bookable properties in Canada on our site today, and are seeing a rapid increase in the number of unique apartment-style accommodation options expressing interest in joining that ever-growing list,” Taylor said. “There is still plenty of room for us to develop in this market and we are committed to continued expansion, bringing only the best user experiences to our consumers.”

Booking.com has been actively marketed in Canada since 2014.
