Special cruise and airline deals for Canada’s 150th birthday

Nice to see some love coming Canada’s way as we get ready for our 150th birthday party on the weekend.

Just in time for Canada Day (July 1 for those of you keeping score at home), a number of travel companies are offering special deals for travel to and from Canada. One of the best is a Canada 150 deal from Regent Seven Seas Cruises, which is rolling back prices on 20 voyages to the year 2012, when the Canadian dollar and the U.S. greenback were at par. That’s a huge savings versus today, when the Canadian dollar is trading at a little less than 76 cents US and when it costs you something like $130 Cdn. to get $100 US at the bank.

Canadians can save big on cruises with Regent Seven Seas this year.

“If Canadian vacationers missed it five years ago, this is the opportunity leverage the loonie for the best in all-inclusive luxury travel,” a Regent Seven Seas official said.

The offer is available between June 21 through July 31, 2017 and includes Mediterranean cruises, trips between San Francisco and Vancouver, New York to Montreal, Caribbean cruises, Beijing to Singapore and more.

Delta Airlines also has a Canada Day special on. Customers can visit delta.com/150 to access a fare sale in honor of Canada’s Sesquicentennial. Discounted fares for travel to and from 11 Canadian destinations Delta serves are available starting Jun. 27 through July 31. Travel must begin on or after Sept. 5 and must be completed on or before Dec. 20. Fares are available starting at CAN $189/USD $109 each way, based on required roundtrip purchase. Additional fees/restrictions/baggage charges may apply.

In a move to cement their True North credentials, Delta has put Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on the cover of the newest Delta Sky magazine. And, on July 1, customers on more than 130 Delta flights to and from Canada will enjoy a complimentary Maple Crème Cookie containing pure Canadian maple syrup.

Air Canada’s Canada Day sale features great deals on flights to Maui.

WestJet has a Canada Day sale on that ends (at least this one) on June 29. I spotted one-way fares from Toronto to beautiful Kelowna, B.C. for $244.

Air Canada’s Canada Day sale has some very attractive fares, including flights between Toronto and Maui for just $342 Cdn. The Air Canada sale ends July 4.
