Canadians are looking for trips to Asia for March Break, but Florida also is high on the list.   According to data from KAYAK, the world’s leading travel search engine, Asia continues to be the top trending spot for Canadians over spring break, with a 14 per cent increase in flight searches since last year. And with overall airfare costing less (down 12% in cost) in 2024 compared to 2023, now may be the time to take that trip.    Their study found that Shanghai is the top trending March Break spot, but that the best deals are for Tampa.   Porter Airlines is launching daily service to five cities in south Florida this fall. Toronto Pearson International Airport to Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa, as well as Ottawa International Airport to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. Florida tourism today announced the strongest international visitation numbers the state has seen since 2019. According to new estimates from VISIT FLORIDA, international visitors have dramatically increased travel to the Sunshine state. The first half of this year saw massive increases in overseas (+21.8%) and Canadian (+81.1%) visitation compared to the same time period in 2022. Florida welcomed a total of 33.1 million visitors between April and June 2023, with 1.9 million of those being overseas visitors and 846,000 Canadian visitors.
