With so much beautiful scenery on offer, it can be hard to decide which Hawaiian beach you should visit to get the most gorgeous holiday (or beach wedding!) snaps. You can research through all the usual avenues, like reading travel blogs or speaking to people who’ve been there. But there’s another way to discover the most beautiful of Hawaii’s beaches: Instagram. Kris Labang, the owner of Hawaii Wedding Photography, discusses how a search of Instagram hashtags can reveal the most beautiful and popular beaches. I get it, but using Instagram as a guide (or any social media channel) comes with Read more

By Jim Byers Member, Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) NAPILI, MAUI, HAWAII – I was scrolling through Instagram the other day and found a post from my friends at the Napili Kai Beach Resort on Maui. It was a photo of a little coastal path that runs along the point and stretches from Napili Beach to a group of hotel rooms on a rocky point of land that separates Napili Bay from Kapalua Bay. A lenswear company called Lensbest has released a new, data-driven list of the best places in the world to watch a sunset. As someone who tries to watch a sunset whenever he can (okay, I’m a romantic), I got a kick out of this. Some 600 global locations Read more

But, hey, it’s warm enough for a ride on the water and this native Californian has 37 Canadian winters under his belt, so I’m not overly stressed. The captain and crew pull the ship out of the marina and out past the pretty Santa Barbara Pier, ,where Read more

NEVIS – Great beach. Great drink. Great golf course. I just got back from the lovely island of Nevis, and found just a ton of great stuff to do. And great people, too. I was staying at Nisbet Plantation, which is beautiful and very relaxing. It’s got a nice beach, but it can’t compare with Pinneys Beach on the west coast of the isand. Pinneys goes on forever, and then a bit more, with nice sand and soft waves and beautiful sunsets. There’s a nice restaurant maybe 50 metres in from the beach called Lime’s, where they make a great Read more
