I started going to Dunedin back in 1993 when I covered the Blue Jays for the Toronto Star. And I’ve been in love with the place ever since.
The town itself is a delight, with an adorable and tiny main street surrounded by lush landscaping, plus great restaurants and unusual shops and fun places to stay.
The cycling is outstanding on the Pinellas Trail, and there are now two breweries in town to go along with the fine restaurants and shops.
Honeymoon Island State Park features quiet, lovely beaches, and you also can take a ferry to nearby Caladesi Island, one of the most beautiful and quiet spots in Florida with one of the state’s top beaches.
Clearwater Beach is next to Dunedin and features a marvellous stretch of sand, plus terrific resorts.
And you’ll find lots to do in nearby St. Petersburg and Indian Shores, including a couple of renowned bars.
Delightful Dunedin and Clearwater Beach are fantastic Florida destinations

The great thing is I live in Pinellas county and get to enjoy all these treasures all the time! Honeymoon Island is one of my favorite places to go and photograph and i make it a point to visit for the street art festivals whenever I can! Great article!
