Stunning design, friendly people, great food and a fabulous cliffside location on a great beach help make The Crane Resort a fantastic destination on the southeast coast of Barbados.
The Crane Resort sits on a cliff overlooking the rugged southeastern coast of Barbados. It’s a marvellous resort with fantastic amenities and a true sense of getting away from it all.
The swimming pool complex at The Crane is unique, with a series of free-form pools spilling into one another as they cascade down a small hill. There’s also an adults only pool that’s great for swimming laps.
This warm pool at The Crane is built inside the remains of an old house. Very cool. The nearby poolside restaurant is inside what used to be the resort’s riding stables.
Room decor at The Crane features light walls and dark, Caribbean wood. Rooms are very good-sized, and mine had a huge bathroom and a large balcony overlooking the ocean.
There are cool paths around the property at The Crane, with wonderful places to sit and admire the waves coming in from the Atlantic Ocean.
There are a couple of other fine beaches just east of The Crane, one of them reachable via a short but wonderfully atmospheric tunnel.
Sunrises are glorious at The Crane. Hey, you can always go back to sleep after you take your picture.
Bodysurfing and boogie boarding are popular activities at The Crane Resort’s beach. It’s usually safe to swim, too, but try to swim with a buddy.
The Crane Resort features a cool, village atmosphere with small, colourful shops, sidewalk vendors and outdoor dining and drinking.
The lobby at The Crane Resort is cool and welcoming. The rum punch is a nice way to get your holiday started, too.
A long stretch of sand, the blue ocean beckoning, and a warm, Caribbean sun. The Crane Resort offers what most of us want from a winter vacation. Summer, spring or fall, too.
