This is shaping up to be quite a Leap Day for travel lovers.
It’s barely noon in Toronto and I’ve already seen several really, really good deals for folks looking for travel bargains. Here are a few I’ve noticed so far…
Air Canada Vacations: I got an email just after noon EST to say folks can save up to (yes, it seems there’s always that famous catchphrase, “up to”, but still) 50 per cent on trips to the Caribbean and Mexico with ACV. You also can get Aeroplan bonuses of 2,900 miles until March 3 for May and June departures, and you can buy business class upgrades for as little as $99 per person each way (a great deal on a long flight to, say, Barbados).
One deal that’s prominent on the ACV site is seven nights in Montego Bay, Jamaica for $842 Cdn, starting April 19.
Over at hotels.com, they’re offering one-day savings of up to 50 per cent and also have a Leap Year special with 29 per cent off. I spotted a room at the lovely Hotel Arts in Calgary (see photo) in March for $126 a night; a remarkable bargain.
Over at Expedia.ca, you can save up to 40 per cent on hotels and get an additional 29 per cent off select hotel on the Expedia App with their Leap Day Coupon. You must book today and travel by May 22, 2016.
There are probably a lot more deals to be had, so check your web sites thoroughly. Leap Year deals like this only come around every four years, so it’s a great time to book. And if you book a Canadian trip, think how much money you’ll save by avoiding the U.S. dollar.
