Beautiful Views of Canada from Intercontinental Hotels Group

I love my country. And I love hotels. So this was a natural post for me, courtesy of the folks at IHG. I hope you enjoy these photos.

As a global leader in delivering true hospitality, InterContinental Hotels Group launched Views from IHG – a photo series where they asked five Canadian cityscape photographers to capture what ‘True Hospitality’ means in five different cities across Canada – inspired by IHG hotel rooms views and surrounding neighbourhoods – of Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal and Fredericton.

Photographers featured include:

Vancouver: @ggeoffreyy
Calgary: @brandonf92
Toronto: @torontoontop
Montreal: @ericbranover
Fredericton: @marcusrogers100

Each photographer was tasked with capturing each city’s distinctive essence and their interpretation of ‘True Hospitality.’ The photo series was created to build awareness of IHG’s extensive hotel portfolio across Canada by highlighting Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn, InterContinental and Crowne Plaza on various digital and social platforms. The content will live on the photographers owned social channels, hero hotel social channels and will also be supported with a paid amplification plan into the month of February. Additionally, the high res photography currently on display at the InterContinental Toronto Centre throughout February will be gifted to IHG Spire Elite members as a thank you. The photographers will also host giveaways of the art on their owned channels to drive further reach and engagement.

Here’s a look at what they came up with.

Photographer: Geoffrey Yuen

Hotel: Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Vancouver Downtown

Location: Vancouver

Inspiration: Located along the Pacific Northwest, I wanted to capture the duality of the Vancouver’s mountains coexisting with its urban counterpart. Innately Vancouver, city and nature blend perfectly together to create a sense of true hospitality and intrigue for all that visit and live in our unique city.

Hotel: Holiday Inn Express & Suites Calgary

Location: Calgary
Inspiration: Following the 2013 floods in Downtown Calgary, the city and its people were devastated – Many Calgarians were left feeling helpless. But in true Calgary fashion, the city not only pulled through but became closer. There was no shortage of volunteers or help being offered. Every time I look at downtown, it’s what I think of. How one city pulled together solely because of the love for one another and the love of our city.

Hotel: InterContinental Toronto Yorkville

Location: Toronto

Inspiration: In many ways, Toronto embodies true hospitality for both its people and its visitors. With its diverse fabric knitting together the city, everyone can find their unique pocket – irrespective of their race, religion, sexuality, and ability. By creating an inclusive space, Toronto provides everyone with the opportunity to flourish to their greatest capacity. The CN tower is the needle to that mesh. Immediately identifiable, the CN Tower symbolizes the loving nature of the city and true hospitality.

Hotel: Holiday Inn & Suites Montréal Centre-ville Ouest

Location: Montreal

Inspiration: At the heart of the city, Mount Royal can be seen from everywhere and you can see everything from it. As an iconic landmark, it makes Montreal unique and easily identifiable. Always peeking through in my photos, Mount Royal reminds me of the comfort and true hospitality of our city, which is undeniably Montreal.

Hotel: Crowne Plaza Fredericton – Lord Beaverbrook

Location: Maritimes

Inspiration: At its core, the lighthouse is the true embodiment of east coast hospitality. Proving that nature is always a stone’s throw away, The Riverfront Trail is located right in Downtown Fredericton. My appreciation for New Brunswick lies in being able to find peace alone in nature, no matter where you are.
