Israel Re-Opens to Orange-Coded Countries January 9, Including Canada

Canadians will soon be able to visit Israel again.

At midnight January 9th, Israel is reopening to tourists and other visitors from Orange designated countries, including Canada.

“Fully vaccinated people coming to Israel from a country on the ORANGE list must go into 24-hour isolation or isolate until they receive negative PCR or Rapid Test results, which must be taken at Ben Gurion International Airport, whichever is earlier. Testing is done at upon arrival, just following luggage claim, before exiting the terminal,” officials said.

Referring to the abolition of isolation for vaccinated people returning from abroad and the return of vaccinated tourists to Israel, Tourism Minister Yoel Razvozov said that “eliminating the isolation of the vaccinated returning from abroad and returning tourism to the vaccinated is the right and just thing in this period.

“I thank my colleagues in the government who understood the plight of the tourism industry and agreed with me that the harm outweighs the benefit. The vaccine is the best response to the epidemic and as such it comes to the vaccinated public to lead an enabling life routine alongside the COVID-19.”

The U.S. is in the red group for Israel, which is more restrictive.

Great Britain and Ireland also have reduced travel restrictions in the past two days.
