Greece and Switzerland End Travel Restrictions Monday, May 2

Two of Europe’s most popular destinations are ending travel restrictions on Monday.

Published reports say Switzerland’s State Secretariat of Migration (SEM) has lifted all entry restrictions that were put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Switzerland is open,” said Pascal Prinz, Director for Switzerland Tourism in Canada.
“We warmly welcome travel-starved Canadians to enjoy the fresh air of the Swiss Alps, discover our quirky boutique towns, and explore our four language regions. No tests, no certificate, no forms, and no quarantine are required in Switzerland. ”

Prinz said Air Canada and SWISS/Lufthansa Group are ramping up their flight schedule to 95% of 2019 levels, offering Canadians great deals to Zurich and Geneva from Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary this summer.

“For ideas, check out our new campaign, ‘We need a change of scenery’ at www.myswitzerland.com/canada . Canada’s TV personality and travel guide Jean-Michel Dufaux shows you the best experiences in Switzerland,” he added.

Greek Minister of Health Thanos Plevris told schengenvisainfo.com that Greece would no longer apply entry rules to incoming travellers.

According to the Minister, all travellers, regardless if they are reaching Greece from an EU or third country, will no longer be required to present a valid vaccination, recovery, or test certificate upon their arrival.

The Guardian reports that Athens and Greece already could be headed to a record tourism year.
