Canada Jetlines Launching Vancouver-Toronto Flights in December; Canadians Happy to Wear Masks In The Air

Canadians will soon have a new way to travel between two of the biggest cities north of the border.

Starting in December 2022, Canada Jetlines will begin flights between Vancouver YVR and Toronto Pearson YYZ using an Airbus A320. There will be two flights a week for now.

“Following the launch of a successful first route out of Toronto, we look forward to expanding our services into Vancouver ahead of the upcoming holiday travel season,” said Duncan Bureau, chief commercial officer of Canada Jetlines. “We seek to provide Canadian travellers with more convenient travel options and look forward to bringing the country’s newest leisure airline to YVR.”

“We look forward to welcoming Canada Jetlines to YVR, providing more connections to Toronto and southern Ontario for travellers to visit family and friends,” said Mike McNaney, VP & Chief External Affairs Office at Vancouver Airport Authority. “

We are excited about the options this new airline is offering from YVR, just in time for the holiday season and throughout the year.”

Canada Jetlines currently flies twice a week between Calgary YYC and Toronto Pearson YYZ.

CANADIANS HAPPY TO WEAR MASKS FOR TRAVEL

Public opinion research company Nanos says a poll finds that 55% of Canadians say they’re likely or somewhat likely to continue wearing a mask while travelling by plane or train within the next year, despite the Trudeau government recently making masks optional for travel.

The survey was commissioned by CTV News.

It’s interesting, but my anecdotal evidence from recent flights suggests that maybe 25% of people on Canadian airline flights are wearing masks.
