Canada’s first Nobu hotel will open sometime later this year.
Nobu Hospitality today said it will open five new hotels in 2023, including Toronto, Rome, Marrakech, Atlantic City and San Sebastián, Spain. With recent announcements of Bangkok and Abu Dhabi, the 32nd property to join the portfolio, the brand continues to grow globally.
This year will mark Nobu Hotels’ 10th anniversary following the opening of Nobu Hotel Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in 2013. For almost 30 years the Nobu brand has been synonymous with modern luxury and instinctive design, a commitment to fine ingredients and incredible food, and an innate passion for service. Each of the existing 32 hotel destinations have been carefully selected based on the success of a Nobu restaurant, to reach 60 restaurants worldwide this year, creating a platform for locals and international travelers alike to create unforgettable memories around food.
Nobu is backed in part by actor Robert De Niro and Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa.
Providing not just a place to stay, but a place to live, 2023 will also welcome the brand’s first luxury residences in Toronto and Los Cabos. With six other residential projects in the pipeline, including Al Khobar, Danang, Abu Dhabi, Tulum, Orlando, and Punta Cana – Nobu is firmly positioning itself within the luxury lifestyle sphere by offering an exclusive curated experience for buyers.
TORONTO RESTAURANT NAMED SECOND BEST ITALIAN DINING SPOT OUTSIDE ITALY
Don Alfonso 1890 has been named one of the best Italian restaurants in the world outside Italy.
The Toronto Star says the Michelin-starred Toronto restaurant was named the second best Italian restaurant in the world — outside of Italy, of course — according to the 50 Top Italy list for 2023.
Don Alfonso 1890, which received one Michelin star last year, is one of 50 restaurants included in the list. Vancouver’s Cioppino came 33rd.
Da Vittorio Shanghai was given the top spot by 50 Top Italy.
I had the pleasure of dining at Don Alfonso 1890 when it was located on Toronto Street. It’s now on the 38th floor at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel on the waterfront.
