Cannabis Hotel for Vegas; Cruise News and Deals; Singapore Tourism Shines

My travel notebook for today touches on a cannabis-friendly hotel for Sin City, cruise news from Holland America, a Singapore tourism update and a wave season deal from Celebrity Cruises.

OH, WOW, MAN: A CANNABIS HOTEL FOR VEGAS

In a town known for its “bigger is better” philosophy, there is a new reimagined property set to bring an intimate, modern, urban, and sexy travel experience to Las Vegas, and it will make its stunning debut this spring. Open while undergoing a multi-million-dollar renovation, the once famed Artisan Hotel Boutique is evolving into The Lexi – Elevations Hotels and Resorts, a new 64 room hotel concept that will be the first in Las Vegas to introduce the idea of cannabis-friendly hospitality, while also putting a focus on providing guests and locals with transformative spaces that are inviting, approachable and completely unique.

Embracing its small and cheeky mentality, The Lexi will feature all new guest rooms and suites, including an entire fourth floor that will be designated cannabis-friendly with each room featuring a state-of-the-art RestorAir filtration system that employs Advanced Oxidation Cell (AOC) technology. While normalizing the idea of cannabis in travel, The Lexi is focused on creating a premium hospitality concept for all guests with a promise of delivering personal and superior service, along with a delicious and inspired culinary and cocktail program, and launching a spring/summer pool party season that is designed to provide a high-energy good time.

The Lexi also will boast a new lobby, one of the few Euroipean-style pools in Vegas and a Cajun-style steakhouse.

GREAT HOLLAND AMERICA CRUISES OUT OF CALIFORNIA

San Diego has been a West Coast homeport for Holland America Line since the 1990s, and for the 2023-2024 season the cruise line is featuring a robust schedule from the Golden State. Highlighting the San Diego cruise season are two solar eclipse cruises that place Koningsdam and Zaandam in Mexico for total viewing during the April 8, 2024, eclipse. Also, a special Mexico departure in December 2023 explores unique ports in the Sea of Cortez.

Now open for booking, travelers can set out to explore Mexico, Hawaii, the Pacific Coast and Panama Canal on six ships across 39 departures. Voyages are roundtrip from San Diego or begin or end in the popular California port. San Diego sailings are part of Holland America Line’s homeport initiative that allows guests to see the world from their doorstep, without international air or by taking an easy flight from Canada.

SINGAPORE SEES TOURISM RECOVERY

Singapore’s international arrivals beat forecasts in 2022, paving the way for its tourism sector to recover to pre-pandemic levels by 2024, tourism officials say.

The city-state saw 6.3 million visitors last year, exceeding the Singapore Tourism Board’s forecast of between 4 to 6 million, while revenue from their spending was estimated to reach $13.8 billion Singapore dollars to $14.3 billion ($10.45 to $10.82 billion USD), Reuters reports.
