Newfoundland Tourism Unveils Mindfulness Cards: Breathe Deep and Enjoy

On the first day of spring, Newfoundland and Labrador tourism officials have unveiled the Newfoundland & Labrador ‘Mindset’; a collection of mindfulness cards that invite Canadians to spend a moment in Newfoundland and Labrador.

“As you know, we have a unique way of life here, making the most of every moment, as it comes. Like the rolling waves of our coastline, we’ve learned to take lessons from the wind and the tide: life comes with a rhythm that will speak to you – if you take the time to listen. The Newfoundland & Labrador MindSet brings these lessons beyond our coastline to the rest of Canada,” officials said.

“We’ve seen mindfulness grow in popularity in recent years, and it really feels like a lot of the practices being taught align well with the way we’ve always lived our lives here. The Newfoundland & Labrador MindSet is a fresh new way to engage with our brand, by giving people a chance to slow down and imagine themselves here.

Newfoundland and Labrador’s Mindset Campaign. A lovely idea.

“This unique set of 42 cards is comprised of two categories: Inspire and Imagine. Inspire cards offer words of wisdom from around the province, while Imagine cards are designed to escape the stressors of city life and let people’s imaginations sweep them to the shores of Newfoundland and Labrador.

“Research has shown that it only takes 21 days to form a habit, and our campaign asks Canadians to draw one of each card over the next three weeks and let the Newfoundland & Labrador MindSet flow into their every day.  What better time to do so than spring: a season of new beginnings and a time when Canadians are yearning to connect with nature.”

The cards are lovely, and provide tips on how to best visit Newfoundland and Labrador, and where to go.

I’ve been to Newfoundland three or four times now, and it’s a glorious slice of Canada. Here’s a blog I posted after a visit in 2017.

A digital version of the Newfoundland & Labrador MindSet is available at NLMindSet.ca.

The campaign is offering a chance to win a 6-night mindfulness vacation to the province. Weekly draws are also taking place to win one of 21 limited collector’s editions of the MindSet cards. People can visit https://nlmindset.anythingbutordinary.travel/ to enter and see contest details.
