The Royal Family: Great Britain Gets Ready for King Charles’ Coronation

Great Britain is most definitely gearing up for all the celebrations leading up to the Coronation of HM King Charles III in May 2023. There is much being planned all across Britain to mark this historic occasion including all things royal to businesses that support the Prince’s Trust to royal food and fashion, as well as fabulous destinations to holiday just like a royal.

The Coronation of King Charles III promises to be a once-in-a-generation kind of event. King Charles ascended to the throne following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on the 8th September 2022. The Coronation marks the formal investiture of a monarch’s regal power. The Coronation will take place over three days with the first day (Saturday 6 May 2023) marked by two grand processions and a religious service at Westminster Abbey. That will be followed by an all-star concert at Windsor Castle on Sunday 7 May which will feature a selection of global stars and the Coronation Choir. Monday 8 May is a special Bank Holiday proclaimed by the Prime Minister in honour of the Coronation. With the big weekend approaching, here’s what you need to know.

CURACAO TOURISM BOOMING

The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) has announced that its target of welcoming a record 525,000 visitors to the island in 2023 is within reach, following a strong start to the year.

In an interview during the 2023 Routes Americas airline route development conference in Chicago this week, Hugo Clarinda, Deputy Director of the Curaçao Tourist Board, expressed confidence about achieving the goal, citing strong performance in the first two months of the year and promising forward bookings from hotels and airlines.

The CTB reported a 20 percent increase in stayover visitors for February compared to the same period last year, with a total of 42,562 tourists visiting the island in February, up from 35,453 a year earlier.

Later in 2023, the CTB expects to see an increase in flights from key markets such as Canada, the U.S., and South America.
