Air Canada and American Express have announced their newest welcome bonuses and accelerated earn rates on their suite of American Express Aeroplan Cards.
Whether for a get-away to Los Angeles, sun-bathing in the tropics of Hawai’i (hey, I’m there today), or tasting sushi in Tokyo, this limited time points offer will enable Canadians to get away sooner and do so in style.
Here are the details:
Premium Card
Get up to 115,000 Aeroplan points with the American Express®* Aeroplan® Reserve Card.
- Earn up to 45,000 Aeroplan points after spending $6,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of Cardmembership.
- Plus, you can also earn 7,500 Aeroplan points for each monthly billing period in which you spend $2,000 in net purchases on your Card for the first 6 months of Cardmembership. That could add up to 45,000 Aeroplan points.
- Plus, you can also earn a total of 25,000 Aeroplan points when you make a purchase between 14 and 17 months of Cardmembership.
I usually spend 25,000 to 30,000 points for my regular round-trip flights between Toronto and California. Having 115,000 in points would mean up to four return flights, perhaps even more. And that’s some serious value.

Small Business Card
Get up to 120,000 Aeroplan points with the American Express®* Aeroplan® Business Reserve Card.
- Earn up to 50,000 Aeroplan points after spending $9,000 in net purchases within the first 3 months of Cardmembership.
