World Travel Awards for Oceania, Including New Zealand, Tahiti and Australia, Plus a Tahiti Cruise Deal

Nice to see some places I know and love in Oceania come home with World Travel Awards.

The World Travel Awards for Oceania were held recently, with awards being handed out to hotels, airlines and destinations in Australia, New Zealand, French Polynesia, and more.

New Zealand (I’ve been twice and hope to go again in early 2025) was named Oceania’s Leading Destination 2024. It’s a remarkable country with an outstanding variety of things to see and do, and a wide variety of climatic/geographic zones that range from rugged mountains and fjords to wide, sandy beaches.

Air New Zealand, which I have had the pleasure of flying on several occasions, was named Oceania’s Leading Airline.

The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort in Tahiti was named Oceania’s Leading Resort 2024, while the superb Four Seasons Bora Bora (one of my fave properties on the planet) was named French Polynesia’s Leading Resort 2024.

The islands of Tahiti were named Leading Dive Destination for Oceania.

The Langham Sydney was named Oceania’s Leading Hotel 2024, while the posh and delightful W Sydney was named Oceania’s Leading New Hotel 2024.  The food is excellent, and the rooftop pool to die for.

Sydney was named Oceania’s Leading City Destination, and justifiably so. It’s one of the world’s truly great cities, and a scenic masterpiece.

In the Northern Territory, the amazing Longitude 131 was named Australia’s Leading Lodge. It features beautiful rooms with fabulous views of Uluru (Ayers Rock), and also fantastic food.
