Air Canada 2025: Free, On-Board Wi-Fi, New Flights to the Philippines and Europe + Much More

From free Wi-Fi on many routes to new destinations like Manila, Prague and Naples, it promises to be a very busy year for Air Canada.

Two airline executives – Mark Nasr, Executive Vice President, Marketing & Digital at Air Canada, President Aeroplan, and Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President, Revenue & Network Planning and President, Cargo at Air Canada, sent out an advisory on Feb. 11 outlining some of the big plans that Canada’s largest airline has for 2025.

Here’s a look.

Check more destinations off your bucket list. Air Canada is adding exciting new destinations throughout the year and flying to more places in North America, Europe, and Asia. Discover destinations no other Canadian airline serves, such as Manila, Naples, and Prague, with non-stop flights from Canada.

Enjoy fast, free Wi‑Fi. Stay connected and stream your favourite content with fast, free Wi‑Fi rolling out across their fleet starting this May, sponsored by Bell. Fast, free Wi‑Fi will be available to all Aeroplan Members on North American and Sun routes, including aircraft that serve Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport (YTZ). The airline says it looks forward to expanding globally in early 2026.

Enjoy complimentary beer and wine, it’s here to stay. Sip back in Economy Class on flights within Canada and the U.S. Plus, enjoy free premium snacks on all flights, featuring homegrown Canadian favourites. (They’re really tasty). You can also dine on rotating seasonal menu items showcasing bigger, bolder flavours, like Honey Ginger Chicken with Shandong Noodles.

New planes, new interiors, more comfort, and more amenities. Air Canada has roughly 90 new aircraft are on order, with deliveries starting this year. We’re also bringing a fresh look and feel to the interiors of our existing fleet. They’re also adding new features like Bluetooth audio on select flights.

Relax in new and modernized lounges. The airline is expanding, renovating, and opening new lounges across the country and around the globe. This multi‑year transformation began in December with updated Maple Leaf Lounges reopening in London (LHR) and Frankfurt (FRA). This year, look out for brand‑new Air Canada Café locations in Canada, with much more to come. Also coming in 2025, more food and beverage options, including healthy grab‑and‑go snacks. I’m a big fan of their San Francisco Maple Leaf Lounge.

The leading mobile app built for you. Simplify your travel with redesigned boarding passes, live boarding progress, gate maps with estimated airport walk times, real‑time flight status on iPhone Lock Screens, expanded bag tracking for international flights and Star Alliance partners, and more to come. I use the bag tracking on some of my flights and find it very useful. The app also shows my future flights and tells me the expected arrival time of my flight when I’m on board.

Share your Apple AirTag location on the go. Travel with peace of mind and share your item’s location for convenient and efficient baggage recovery.

More ways to earn, redeem, and love Aeroplan. Air Canada is adding exclusive benefits, earning opportunities, and promotions with Aeroplan. That starts with the extension of its 4th Night Free offer for 2025—Aeroplan credit cardholders can stay an extra night free when they redeem through the hotel booking platform. Stay tuned for new and expanded partnerships, and additional improvements to the Aeroplan Elite Status program. I’ve been an Aeroplan member for more than 25 years and often use my miles to book great trips. I just booked one on the weekend to fly to San Francisco to see my Dad.
