New Hotels.com search data shows Canadians are already planning where to go for spring and summer travel at home.  The biggest demand spikes are being driven by three standout Canadian moments:  Toronto Blue Jays:  The hometown love continues for the Toronto Blue Jays with demand up 120% YOY for the Jays’ June 5-14 homestand.  Their second homestand – June 22-July 1 – shows a 50% increase in demand YOY.  Montreal Grand Prix:  Most popular is the Grand Prix in Montreal on May 22-24. “Elbows Up” shows no signs of slowing down. New figures released by Statistics Canada today (April 13), show that Canadian trips to the United States continue to fall, and at a faster rate. Stats Can figures for March, 2026 show that return car trips to Canada from the States fell 4.5% compared to March of last year, while return trips by air dropped 13.7%. Another day, another travel list. I can’t take too much issue with MSN’s recent list of 29 beautiful views in Canada. I like that the writers/editors included places in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories, rather than sticking to the tried-and-true places. I’m not sure that these are meant to be in order, from best to “worst.” But I assume that’s the case, which makes me wonder, because I have no idea how you could argue that Cape Breton belongs below the Okanagan Valley or downtown Toronto. USA Today has come out with its annual list of best coastal towns in the States. Once again, California and Florida dominate the top 10. Coming out in first place was Pismo Beach, California; a fabulous town on the Central Coast between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
