Elise Parker from Walk Into Luxury tours is guiding my wife and I along the coast of Western Australia near Injidup Beach. The ocean is an achingly bright shade of blue the Benjamin Moore people haven’t created yet, and is crashing against spiky, orange-brown rocks on a pale golden beach. As we walk, she points out native plants that can be quite useful if one knows the secrets. The nectar from a Melaleuca can be licked, or collected and made into a sweet drink. Some grasses that don’t look like much can be eaten raw, or roasted. Being more of Read more

A look at where North Americans are thinking of traveling, the latest stats on foreign visits to Canada, miscellaneous news and a European theme park with something called “Spitting Toilet Man.” Today’s blog post has a little of everything. Old man winter doesn’t appear to be finished with Canada just yet. Officials at Toronto Pearson Airport are warning of potential flight delays and cancellations at Canada’s largest airport due to a forecast of heavy snow today (March 22), the third full day of spring. “Toronto Pearson is expecting up to 13 cm of snow to fall at the airport, starting in the early afternoon Friday and continuing through the night,” officials said on the YYZ Twitter/X account. “At the heaviest points of the storm, we could see up to 3 cm of snow per hour at the airport. “Our Read more

It’s about a one-hour ferry ride from Kingstown, St. Vincent, and a pretty ride at that. The Bequia Beach Hotel is a superb place to rest your head. SINGAPORE SHINES This Asian city is a terrific destination, Read more
ESPERANCE, WEST AUSTRALIA – Our six-seater plane is swooping and soaring over perhaps the most striking coastline I’ve ever seen. The water is an insane shade of aquamarine that I’ve never imagined, with beams of navy blue and bands of brilliant green running along the coast. After a good 20-30 minutes of enjoying the heck out of our bird’s eye view of the southern coast of Western Australia, our pilot with Fly Esperance, the young Read more
