Flair Airlines, Canada’s everyday low fare airline, begins service to New York City today, with the inaugural flight to John F. Kennedy International Airport from Toronto Pearson International Airport. Canada Jetlines, the new, “all-Canadian leisure carrier,” announced today that it will begin operations out of Toronto Pearson International Airport. They have a targeted start date in the summer of 2022.  Canada Jetlines will operate out of the airport with a fleet of airbus family aircraft, starting with the A320. In a move that could boost Canadian tourism, Canada has been promoted from level four to level three in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s country ratings system for COVID-19. The Atlanta-based group, which makes travel recommendations for U.S. residents, made the change earlier this week. Level four suggests “very high” COVID levels and recommends against travel to the destination, to level three, which suggests “high” COVID levels but doesn’t recommend against travel. WestJet is celebrating a milestone in recovery with its highest single-day guest count since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
