ANTIGUA – I was clearly out of my league. It was my second day in Antigua, and I was on a driving tour of the south side of the island. I’d heard something about a yacht show in Falmouth harbour, but wasn’t quite prepared for what I found. ANTIGUA – I can’t verify that there are 365 beaches on this island, one for every day of the year. The tourist board says it’s true, and tourist boards never inflate their numbers. Right? All I know is I took a five-hour drive around the south part of the island the other day and spotted a dozen or so of the spiffiest, most alluring stretches of sand I’ve seen in a long time. NEVIS – Great beach. Great drink. Great golf course. I just got back from the lovely island of Nevis, and found just a ton of great stuff to do. And great people, too. I was staying at Nisbet Plantation, which is beautiful and very relaxing. It’s got a nice beach, but it can’t compare with Pinneys Beach on the west coast of the isand. Pinneys goes on forever, and then a bit more, with nice sand and soft waves and beautiful sunsets. NEVIS – I think I’m in love. I’ve only been on this Caribbean island two days but I’ve packed a ton of great experiences into my 48 hours. And I’ve loved every minute of it. It’s a place I didn’t know a lot about, having never been to St. Kitt’s, which is a mere two miles away and is part of the same country.
