It seems many Canadians plan on staying close to home again next summer. With that in mind, here’s a look at seven top places to explore in Canada’s most populous province. MUSKOKA Muskoka has been Ontario’s top summer playground for decades now, with sparkling lakes and rocky shores dotted with deciduous trees and sweet-smelling pines. There’s even more reason to go in 2023, as the historic RMS (Royal Mail Ship) Segwun (built in 1866) should be ready to sail again after a three-year hiatus. Ireland tourism is on the rise. Ditto for Puerto Rico. But the most interesting news of the day comes from China. If you’re like me (I’m not saying that’s a good thing), your biggest pet peeve on an airline is when someone sitting in front of you reclines their seat. One of Hawaii’s top resorts is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a stylish new Club Lounge. The Ritz-Carlton Maui Kapalua, which sits on a bluff overlooking the ocean and the island of Molokai across the channel, has a posh new Club Lounge with fabulous food and serene views. It’s a massive space that measures some 5,000 square feet, and is located in the former Anuenue Room. There are plenty of nooks and crannies for privacy and a fresh décor with deeply polished wood floors, curved grey sofas with cheery yellow-green cushions, local art, and tons of fresh flowers. There’s also Read more

A new study finds that one of Canada’s most attractive destinations still faces a bit of an uphill struggle when it comes to tourism. And, quite frankly, I don’t get it. A survey of Canadian travel habits and desires by Tourism Nova Scotia found that 37% of Canadian travellers who aim to take a holiday in the next 12 months will be heading to Ontario. The next choices were Quebec (24%), British Columbia (23%), the U.S.A. (18), International (17) and Alberta (15, which is a lower percentage than I would’ve expected given the grandeur of the Rockies). Atlantic Canada, which Read more
