The MICHELIN Guide has announced that 74 restaurants made the inaugural Toronto selection, including 1 Two-Star restaurant, 12 One-Star restaurants, 17 Bib Gourmand restaurants, and 44 recommended restaurants. Toronto was announced as the first Canadian MICHELIN Guide destination in May and the sixth in North America. The country’s inaugural selection brings global attention to Toronto’s diverse culinary scene. The selection includes 27 cuisine types. Ace Hotel Toronto — the brand’s inaugural home in Canada — opens its doors today. The 123-room ground-up project was designed by revered Toronto firm Shim-Sutcliffe Architects, led by Brigitte Shim and Howard Sutcliffe, recipients of numerous awards including the 2021 Royal Architectural Institute of Canada’s Gold Medal, the nation’s highest honour for architecture.
