Porter Airlines has revealed its first destinations for its new Embraer long-range jets. The Toronto-based airline says it will begin operations at Toronto Pearson on Feb. 1, 2023, with flights to Ottawa and Montreal Trudeau airports. Six days later, Feb. 7, will see their first flight to the west coast, a Toronto-Vancouver trip. After a summer plagued by delays, the Trudeau government says Canadian airports are operating at levels similar to pre-pandemic numbers. Flying out of Toronto Pearson airport is about to get more expensive. The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) today (September 28) announced it will increase the aeronautical rates and the airport improvement fee (AIF) on January 1, 2023. These increases are a result of the high inflationary environment and ongoing impacts from COVID-19.
