The Conference Board of Canada and Expedia Group say travel and tourism are definitely on the upswing. In their latest report, the Conference Board found that 86% of Canadians say they miss travelling. Better yet, the numbers who report that COVID-19 is slowing their travel plans is down sharply. Canadians will soon have a new way to reach one of the world’s greatest cities. WestJet today announced it will add non-stop service from Calgary to London’s Heathrow Airport, starting in  early spring 2022. Passenger activity at Canada’s busiest airport nearly tripled in the third quarter of 2021, a sure sign that travel is on the upswing. The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (“GTAA”) today reported its financial and operating results for the three- and nine-months ended September 30, 2021.  Passenger activity increased 190% for the third quarter of 2021, rising from 1.7 million in the third quarter of last year to 4.7 million this year.
