Golf and lobsters and Anne of Green Gables you probably know about. But there’s so much more to Prince Edward Island; cool shops and restaurants and bars in Charlottetown, fine distilleries and craft breweries, marvellous country inns and beautiful beaches. And much more.
I haven’t had nearly enough time to explore the island as I’d like (especially the northern/western sections), but what I’ve seen I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. So here are some of my favourite shots from my various trips over the years…
Montague is a lovely harbour town in eastern PEI, not far from the ferry docks for the boats from Nova Scotia.
Charlottetown has a number of beautiful (and trendy) restaurants. A jeweler in town even makes necklaces with dead beetles imported from southeast Asia.

Will and Kate made a big splash during their visit to Dalvay by the Sea PEI a few years back.
You’ll get great views at Around the Sea, a rotating house/B & B in North Rustico. It’s built on a platform that rotates, giving guests a variety of views over the course of their stay. #Brilliant.
The Inn at Bay Fortune is a gorgeous property in eastern PEI, with cutting edge cuisine and a tranquil setting. Celebrity chef Michael Smith used to cook here and bought the property earlier this year.
Prince Edward Island National Park offers lovely walks and great beaches.

The dining room at Dalvay by the Sea is a lovely spot for a great meal. I hoovered this dessert down pretty quickly!
Don’t forget to have a chat with Canada’s first prime minister when you’re in Charlottetown. After that, stop at the famous Cows ice cream shop for a cold treat.
