Broadway: An Essential (and easy) New York Experience

There are lots of streets called Broadway. But Broadway in New York is a theatrical state of mind as much as it is a road.

If you take a tour of any kind in the city, chances are the person leading the way will be a part-time actress, actor or singer; someone trying to earn their chops and make it to the top.

Seeing a show on Broadway is one of the best things to do in New York City, where you’ll find massive marquees advertising everything from sensitive, historical dramas to over-the-top musicals, and everything in between.

And it’s so easy to do from the comfort of your own home if you go online and visit the Broadway Collection website. You also can call the Broadway Collection/Broadway Inbound office at 1-866-302-0995.

Broadway Inbound is the ticketing source for tour operators, group buyers, and travel industry distribution partners. Their dedicated team of professionals has decades of experience in ticketing, marketing, and operations, providing group and travel partners with superior support and service.

And their simple online booking system gives you seamless access to inventory—direct from the box office—at unbeatable wholesale and group prices.

They’ve got tons of great shows on offer, including Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, The Book of Mormon, The Lion King, Frozen, Wicked and Come From Away, which tells the story of travellers stranded in Newfoundland after 9-11. It’s a wonderful, poignant and extremely funny story that makes you proud to be a Canadian.

The Broadway Collection/Broadway Inbound website makes it easy to book tickets to fabulous shows.

My wife and I took in Jersey Boys on Broadway last week. It’s an outstanding, Tony Award-winning show that tells the story of the musical group Franki Valli and The Four Seasons, who hail from nearby New Jersey and made a huge mark on the music world in the 1960’s. The acting is excellent and the music is bouncy and wonderfully tuneful.

I found tickets in February for Jersey Boys for as little as $59 USD. Compared to the price of a concert these days, that’s amazing.

We caught the show at the New World Stages theatre on West 50th near Eighth Avenue, so it’s very convenient for mid-town and Times Square hotels.

In previous visits to NYC we’ve used the Broadway Collection/Broadway Inbound service to see other fabulous shows, including Kinky Boots (a riot, with wonderful costumes and great music from Cyndi Lauper) and Beautiful, which tells the story of legendary singer/songwriter Carole King.

You definitely don’t want to go to New York without seeing a great show, and the Broadway Collection/Broadway Inbound folks make it easy.
