Canadian visits to the United States increased last month, the first increase in return trips to the States since late in 2024. Statistics Canada figures released today (May 11) show that Canadian-resident return trips from the U.S. in April totalled 1.8 million. That’s up 1.4% from the same month in 2025. A new survey by Flight Hub finds that Canadians are split on the idea of holiday travel. Their report finds that one quarter (25%) of those who responded aged 18-34 indicated they are travelling to escape the Canadian winter. Just over one-half (53%) of survey respondents said they are not travelling this holiday season. Breaking that down further, and this is interesting 51% of English-speaking Canadians are not travelling, while 65% of French-speaking Canadians are not travelling. Air Canada is giving its India service a significant boost, a move that will no doubt be welcomed by the Indian diaspora in Canada. Air Canada today announced the strategic expansion of its international network to India, adding 40% more seat capacity beginning late October for the Winter 2024-25 season.
