U.S. News and World Report has come out with its annual list of top hotels and resorts in the U.S. and Canada. The Four Seasons Hualalai on Hawai’i Big Island earned twin awards by being named best hotel and best resort in the U.S. The Four Seasons Hotel Toronto was named Canada’s top hotel and Four Seasons Resort in Whistler, B.C. was named Canada’s top resort. Canadians are looking for the usual spots for winter getaways, but Japan is gaining traction, according to a new study by Expedia. The study finds the most searched winter destinations for Canadians are New York City, Cancun, Las Vegas and Punta Cana. A new study has found Vancouver to be Canada’s most expensive city for renting Airbnbs. The research, carried out by financial advice website Money.ca, calculated the cost of renting property on Airbnb in different cities. They used Airbnb’s earnings calculator to work out the average cost of renting out an entire one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom property in Canada’s 50 most populated cities.
