SAN ANTONIO – Fort Myers is recovering nicely from Hurricane Ian. California is bursting with visitors. Washington D.C. wants more international travellers. Move over London, luxury travelers have a new favourite city. U.S. cities cleaned up in the latest ranking of the world’s top 100 urban places. New York City scored highest, with a number three ranking for the world. Los Angeles was 12th and San Francisco 14th, while San Diego finished in the 32nd spot and San Jose 74th. A new listing of the best U.S. cities by a well-known consulting group has put the Big Apple back on top again. Resonance Consultancy? has named New York City the best city in the U.S. for the seventh year in a row. But California swept the top ten with four placements, including Los Angeles in the number two spot and San Francisco taking the bronze medal. Flight cancellations continue to trouble U.S. and Canadian travelers today, but it’s not as bad as yesterday. As of 1 p.m. Eastern Time today (January 4), flightaware.com reports there have been 3,482 cancellations around the world today. For flights within, to or from the U.S., that figure was at 1,367. That’s a lot, but it’s a little better than the 5,023 cancellations for all day yesterday around the world and the 3,226 cancellations for the U.S. Fliers in Canada continue to have problems with cancellations.
