CNN has a chart out today that lists the world’s busiest airports for 2022, and the U.S. is extremely dominant. The top four on the list are American airports, and U.S. facilities make up five of the top ten (indeed, five of the top six). China usually has an entry or two in these sort of lists, but the country has been slow to open up since the pandemic and failed to land an airport in the top 10 this time. After months and months of travel discontent across Canada, the Canadian government today said it will spend $1.8 billion over five years to improve airport operations and passenger screening, and to address a backlog of airline complaints to the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA). Visitors to Las Vegas are extremely satisfied with their experience. A new survey also finds the typical Vegas visitor is getting younger and more diverse. According to research published this week by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), more than three-quarters (77 percent) of visitors to Las Vegas in 2022 said that they were “Very Satisfied” with their visit, up from 70% in 2021.  Another one in five (20%) said they were “Somewhat Satisfied.”. A top Canadian airline executive says he’s opposed to the idea of giving passengers automatic refunds for delayed or cancelled flights. The Trudeau government is promising to beef up air passenger protection rules in the wake of a chaotic holiday travel season that saw hundreds of Canadian stranded far from home.
